This recipe is slightly higher in fat, so it's great for active dogs that burn a lot of energy. Just be careful not to over feed as it’s nutrient dense. It’s got bigger chunks that will be satisfying for larger dogs to chew through.
Important: This recipe is balanced IF you serve it with your dog’s dose of a sea kelp supplement (for iodine). Our Precious Greens is one option for this. You can find pure sea kelp powder or other supplements that include iodine in any pet shop. Just be sure to follow the dose recommendation as you also don’t want to overdo it.
Woofdorf Salad
Makes about 4 days of food for Cedric. (Approx. 1100 Calories per batch)
Items:
Medium pot, Freezer potion containers
Ingredients:
3 Eggs, save 1 shell
3 oz (85g) Beef Liver
8 oz (225g) Steak
8 oz (225g) Carrots
8 oz (225g) Green Beans
4 oz (about 100g)Rolled oats (uncooked)
1 tablespoon Olive oil
1 teaspoon Omega/fish oil
Directions:
Bring 3 cups (800ml) of water to a boil. Add in eggs and liver. Cook for about 10 minutes, then remove and set aside.
In the same water, add the steak and boil for about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Remove 1 cup of water. Add in oats and vegetables. Cook for about 10-15 minutes.
Peel eggs. Save and and crush one of the eggshells.
Chop up eggs, liver, and steak into bite sized pieces.
Oats and veggies should be soft. Stir and let cool.
Mix everything together, including the olive and omega oils.
Portion and freeze. Keeps 6 months in the freezer. Keeps 3-4 days max in the fridge.
