Items
Hand or stand mixer
Non-stick donut mold (here’s mine)
Piping bag or any plastic food bag
Ingredients
Donuts:
3 egg whites
1 egg yolk
1/4 cup oat flour
Glaze:
2-3 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
1 tsp goat milk powder
Optional flavors:
1 tsp carob powder
crushed freeze dried strawberries
Directions
Donuts
Preheat oven to 325F.
In a large bowl, whisk egg whites until stiff peaks form. They should be extremely fluffy and thick enough to not fall out of the bowl when flipped.
Using a spatula, gently fold in the oat flour and egg yolk until just combined. Do not over mix. The mixture should still be light and airy.
Gently transfer the mixture into your piping/plastic food bag.
Cut an inch off the corner of the bag and pipe mixture into the donut pan. Overfill slightly as these will shrink a little.
Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
Loosen the donuts from the mold and allow them to cool in the freezer while you prepare the glaze.
Glaze
Melt coconut oil in a bowl large enough to dip the donuts into. Mix in the goat milk powder until fully combined. Mix in any other chosen flavors.
Allow the glaze to come to room temp before glazing. You don’t want it to be hot.
When the donuts are chilled, dunk them into the glaze to coat lightly.
Let them sit until the glaze hardens.
Break donuts into small pieces for smaller dogs or dogs that eat too fast. Serve with milk or pawffee on a Saturday morning!
Store in the fridge for up to 3 days, if they last. :)
